not sure if you can upload pics to the sd card/flash memory stick without a computer...
but you could do it for her....
maybe if the camera used the same sort of memory stick as the frame...it would be easy to just take it out of the cam and put it into the frame...

No, you don't need a PC. The digital photo frames will accept various types of memory used for digital cameras directly. I have two of them that were given to me. While I do have several laptops, I've never bothered to connect any of them to the frames.

if she has a digital camera then she should be fine, digital frames use a memory stick of some sort, so if she wanted to have say, an album of all the photos of the year, she'd have to put them all on her computer, and load them onto one stick, unless she never deletes.

the only drawback with many photo frames, if you're simply putting the SD card/flash card in straight from the camera is the orientation. if you've taken a shot in portrait as opposed to landscape, the photo frame won't rotate it automatically and it'll get displayed sideways. so in that respect it helps to have run the photos through a PC first if only to correct the orientation.

This is indeed an interesting story.
An outfit called "Computer Associates" has identified an extremely destructive virus called Mocmex, which can evade over 100 security fixes, collect private data and make a general mess of your computer.
It's supposedly embedded in digital camera frames made in China.
I traced the articles on Google and they all lead back to ONE article in the San Francisco Chronicle which quoted Computer Associates.
There are no other independent reports of the virus -- they're all copy/paste of the Chronicle story.
So what we have here is a virus report which may itself be a virus.

Who reported this? Please give us a link.
A virus is a small piece of software that piggybacks on real programs. There are no programs on a digital photo frame, so I don't know how it is possible for one to infect a frame
Now the Mocmex is not a virus ... Mocmex is a Trojan horse from our friends in China. Trojan authors are well-funded professionals who have designed the virus to capture information without leaving behind any digital footprints. It is a form of economic espionage
A Trojan horse is simply a computer program. The program claims to do one thing (it may claim to be a game) but instead does damage when you run it. I don't know how this is supposed to work on a frame, but who knows ... just don't play any game that comes with the frame.
Here is one link I foundhttp://www.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?st…

Very easy to use. Good product. Not the best resolution, but I wouldn't expect it from such a small screen with limited power source. Good price. Fast delivery.
